Bootfoot vs. Stockingfoot Waders: What to Check Before You Order

The first choice when shopping for chest waders is the footwear: boots attached to the wader, or stockingfeet worn inside separate wading boots. That difference changes both your size selection and what you need to buy.

Two designs, two ways to choose a size

Bootfoot waders have attached boots. Our DikaSun lightweight bootfoot chest waders use Men or Women and US shoe-size selections. The listed package is one pair of chest waders with attached boots; separate wading boots are not required for that design.

Stockingfoot waders have integrated stockingfeet. Our DikaSun breathable stockingfoot chest waders are intended for use with separate wading boots. Their Small through XX-Large choices are unisex garment sizes, not US shoe sizes. Include the separate footwear in your budget and fit check.

Start with the size chart for the exact product

A size number alone does not describe your whole fit. Before ordering, note your usual shoe size, height, chest measurement and inseam, then compare the measurements requested in that product's chart. Check that you are reading the right men's, women's or unisex sizing system. Do not transfer a size from an unrelated brand or from a bootfoot model to a stockingfoot model.

For its bootfoot model, DikaSun advises starting with your usual shoe size and considering a larger size for wide feet or thick socks. That is a starting point rather than a guarantee: compare the chart and allow for the clothing you intend to wear underneath. If two measurements suggest different sizes, ask the shop before ordering.
